How We Got Into

Concierge Medicine

You and your family are unique and deserve medical care that is tailored to your individual needs. I am thrilled to offer this care at Cahaba Concierge Medicine — come and see what true family medicine care can be!

— Dr. Katie Moore

It all started in the Mississippi Delta.

In 1998, I started my freshman year at Delta State University (Go Fighting Okra!), and I met my fellow classmate and only other biochemistry major in our year, Spencer Moore. Within 2 months of dating, I was in love. We graduated with top honors from DSU and moved to Jackson, Mississippi to start our medical and dental schools at the University of Mississippi. Two years later, we were married, and in two more years, we moved to Birmingham, AL to start my family medicine residency. The next three and a half years brought our 3 amazing children--Collins (2008), Elizabeth Parker (2010) and Harrison (2012)—as well as the start of our practices.

After 11.5 years of practice in Liberty Park, the speed of corporate medicine began to interfere with excellent patient care, so our next step was planned—a concierge family medicine practice in the heart of Liberty Park. We are amazed at the Lord’s guidance and blessings throughout this journey, and we are so excited to share the realization of our vision with you. From the Mississippi River to the Cahaba River….an amazing journey that we invite you to join.

Hey, there! I am Dr. Katie Moore.

Dr. Moore grew up in Northwest Mississippi. She found her calling to medicine at the age of 14 during a high school biology course when her supportive science teacher, Mr. Bob Dees, encouraged her to become a doctor.

A high school valedictorian honor, first diploma at Delta State University, and a top 25% class ranking at the University of Mississippi Medical Center allowed Dr. Moore to choose any specialty she desired, and her heart was in family medicine. After receiving the honor of induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, Dr. Moore chose to continue her training with St. Vincent’s East Family Medicine residency. This residency not only allowed Dr. Moore to train under some of the finest attending physicians in the state, but it also empowered her to incorporate her faith into patient care.

She began her practice of medicine with Trinity Family Medicine (now Grandview) in Liberty Park. Her location within the community of Liberty Park allowed for convenient and complete family care, as infants to grandparents (and beyond) were welcomed to the clinic. Dr. Moore has received the esteemed recognition of being named to B-Metro’s Top Women in Medicine every year from 2015 to present. Combining Dr. Moore’s individualized patient care with an excellent clinic staff, the clinic’s patient panel quickly filled to capacity.

After 11.5 years of being an employed physician and tiring of the interferences from insurance and corporate medicine, Dr. Moore asked her staff to take a step of faith to establish Cahaba Concierge Medicine. The vision for the clinic was to provide excellent, personalized and compassionate care to each patient without the limitations of traditional medical care.

Dr. Moore is married to her college sweetheart, Spencer Moore, and they have three amazing and hilarious children — Collins (15), Elizabeth Parker (13), and Harrison (11). The Moores live in Mountain Brook and love to play at the lake, hike, run, cycle, vacation and laugh together. Dr. Moore is thrilled to welcome new patients to her clinic. Come and see what true family medicine care can be!
